CRIME REPORTS: Assaults, Narcotics, a Butterfly Knife

The following are reports taken from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

 

At 4:21 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 800 block of Calle Mendoza. The informant reported a man who was throwing golf balls at her bedroom window. The woman suspected it was her neighbor. 

At 7:35 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a battery assault in the 200 block of Avenida Palizada. According to the report, a woman was attempting to move out of her residence when her roommate began to take her personal belongings and punched her twice. The informant appeared to be especially concerned because her roommate owns knives, handguns, and rifles.  

At 3:28 p.m. Monday, police conducted a patrol check at the Ralph's Skate Park in the 200 block of Avenida La Pata. Several minors were riding scooters at the skatepark, even though it is not allowed. 

At 11:49 a.m. Monday, police arrested a 27-year-old-man in the 2900 block of Via San Gorgonio. According to the report, the informant was in a heated argument with her ex-boyfriend and he hit her in the face. He was taken into custody and bail was set for $10,000. 

At 10:54 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Canada. According to the report, four to five subjects were smoking marijuana and creating a lot of noise on their patio. The informant asked the group if they could keep it down and one man yelled and threatened to have him shot. 

At 8:35 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a battery assault in the 3700 block of El Camino Real. The informant reported his girlfriend had hit him over the head with a bottle and took his wallet. The woman left the area before police had arrived. 

At 7:44 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a reckless driver near the Camino De Los Mares and Calle Campana intersection. The informant reported seeing a grey lifted Dodge truck that was tailgating, driving with high beams, and drove onto a sidewalk to get around the informant’s car. 

At 4:03 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a weapon being brandished at the San Clemente skate park in the 200 block of Avenida La Pata. According to the report, a man pulled out a five inch butterfly knife on the informant’s 14-year-old son and made him apologize for something he did to another minor. The man had a shaved head and was wearing Rastafarian colors. 

At 11:24 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 200 block of Avenida Vista Montana. According to the report, a man who appeared to be intoxicated was walking around a neighborhood telling residents he had ingested heroin and Vicodin. He was wearing a multicolored T-shirt and blue jeans. 

At 8:51 p.m. Saturday, police arrested a 20-year-old-man in the 2300 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, the man was at Pedro’s Tacos and appeared to be intoxicated after he had been in a non-injury traffic accident. He was taken into custody and bail was set for $2,500.00.

At 7:24 p.m. Friday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 2700 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, a man in a gray sweatshirt appeared to be extremely intoxicated as he staggered North bond on El Camino Real and urinated on walls.
