Designers Unveil Fall Fashion at St. Regis

The Fashion Destination Group's annual fashion show featured various designers including Gretchen Christine, Liberate and Kashia.

The Fashion Destination Group held its annual extravaganza fashion show and conference this weekend at the St. Regis Resort in Dana Point to showcase up and coming designers.

On Saturday the group held a mid-day outdoor runway show featuring summer lines by designers including Gretchen Christine, Liberate, Patti V, and Kashia while the evening show displayed a variety of fall fashion lines.

Other designers brought racks of their summer line dresses and casual wear and displayed them for purchase on the St. Regis’s Pacific Lawn, while designer Trina Turk displayed her World Traveler summer 2012 pieces featuring brightly colored dresses and swimwear.

Trina Turk opened her first store in Palm Springs in 2002 and drew from her Southern California roots, creating clothes that were progressive, accessible, and confident.  Today, her brand branches out into foreign styles such as Amitra dresses from Istanbul, Marisol dresses from Mexico, and Devendra dresses from Egypt, to name a few.

Amid the dozens of designer lines and variety of accessories on display at the Fashion Destination Group’s Summer Fete on Saturday, the Koscar Interactive offered a refreshingly new product – the Magic Mirror.

The Mirror features a camera that streams video and tracks movement as you stand in front of it. You can then, with a wave of your hand, “try on” the latest designer lines from online catalogues. The Mirror essentially superimposes the image of the designer clothing your own image so that you can see how you would look in various styles.

“Koscar Interactive has also connected the Mirror with online catalogues into which people can upload photos of their entire wardrobe to better choose what they will wear for the day,” says spokesman Wira Soedarmono, of the Fashion Extravaganza.

Available in over 50 stores across China since last September, the Mirror finally makes its way to the United States to début in both stores and a smaller in-home model.

The Fashion Destination Group, connected with Fashion Gives, hosts a variety of charitable events throughout the year. This year’s Extravaganza donated primarily to Working Wardrobes, an organization that, since 1990, has helped over 50,000 survivors of major life crises find new careers.
