San Onofre Foundation, Coastkeeper Host Kids

Local groups hosted students from Shorecliffs Middle School at the San Onofre State Beach to learn about wildlife, watersheds and the area's first occupants.

The San Onofre Foundation, along with Orange County Coastkeeper, hosted hundreds of students for a beach field trip to San Onofre State Beach this week.

The kids from Shorecliffs Middle School learned about sand dune, sage scrub and aquatic habitats and how pollution reaches the ocean through the watershed.

Field trip organizers also talked about the Native American history of the site.
