Adopted Unit: 2nd Battalion 4th Marines
Wayne Eggleston, Executive Director of the Heritage of San Clemente Foundation and the Marine Monument invites residents to join Marines from the Second Battalion, Fourth Marines at a fundraising carwash in the Wal-Mart (Pico Plaza on Ave Pico) parking lot, on Saturday, Jan. 28th, from 8am to 5pm.
The event supports the families of troops who are currently deployed in Afghanistan and donations will be accepted at the car wash and online at www.MarineMonument.com.
Dozens of Camp Pendleton Marines are on hand at these periodic car washes, swarming over the entire surface of a car, doing such a thorough job of washing and drying that, according to Realtor Debbie Ferrari, Vice President of the Heritage Foundation, “…You’d be hard pressed to find a car wash that would ever do so good a job.”
