First Register for School, then Have a Little Wine

Today's San Clemente "five things" column is dedication to education and the culinary arts!

1. Two for the price of one: The new principal at Shorecliffs Middle School sent out a message this week that there’s a new assistant principal there as well. Principal Heidi Crowley reports Rick Maynard is the new AP, coming from a similar position at Ladera Ranch Middle School for the last two years. He has also worked as an assistant principal at Arroyo Vista K-8 and Las Flores Middle School. 

2.Did you forget? Registration for San Clemente High School students began Monday at the Triton Center. Today is for sophomore registration and Thursday is for freshmen. But don’t worry; Friday is a make-up date, from 8-11:30 a.m.

3. Ne pas oublier (don’t forget): SC Wine Company is offering French wine and food pairing tonight from 6:30-8:30, featuring the wines of Luis Latour.  The cost is $60 a person.

4. More yummy stuff: The Vine offers a four-course food and wine-pairing menu of its own for $40 on Wednesday nights. The fun begins at 7 p.m. but you need reservations.
