HeartChase San Clemente raises nearly $20,000 for the American Heart Association

HeartChase San Clemente, an urban race and community fundraiser held on Saturday, June 29th  at the San Clemente Presbyterian Church, raised nearly $20,000 in support of the American Heart Association.  Over 100 people and several wacky dressed teams participated in the "heart healthy" event held inmemory of local restaurateur and philanthropist Tony Carbonara, who died in January.  Chip and Kim McAllister season 5 winners of the TV  show "The Amazing Race" were on hand for the opening and closing ceremonies. Participants of all ages from 7 to 70 were represented on the various HeartChase San Clemente teams and heart rates were definitely up racing to all the checkpoints to complete challenges during the race.
