Military Benefits Available at San Diego State University

San Diego State University’s College of Extended Studies created its Military and Veterans Services Office to meet the needs of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces and their families. The College reaches out to veterans, active duty service members, and their families by offering more than 30 certificate programs that have been approved for veterans’ education and military spouse benefits.

The Department of Defense (DOD) Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) assists military spouses in obtaining training and education in a high-demand, portable career by providing $4,000 over a two-year period for educational benefits. SDSU offers certificate programs in the following approved fields: business and financial services, construction occupations, educational services, energy, health care, hospitality, human resources, meeting and event planning, process improvement, and the technology industry.

Classes are available either online, 24/7 or on-site at SDSU. Most SDSU College of Extended Studies on-site classes are held in the evenings, to better accommodate work and family schedules.

SDSU's College of Extended Studies reaches out to the greater San Diego community, the nation, and the world through a wide variety of lifelong learning classes, seminars, and certificate programs. Career advancement courses are offered in many areas of management, leadership, and quality improvement while self-enrichment courses range from accounting to web design.
