1,000 Dolphins Stampede Whale Watching Boat

Sightseers off the coast of Dana Point were treated to a spectacular scene this weekend.

It’s hard to imagine that some of the planet’s most breathtaking wildlife lives within sight Southern California’s crowded coastline.

But, as Dave Anderson, the captain of Capt. Dave's Dolphin and Whale Safari, explains, one of the largest concentrations of common dolphins is local – about 450,000 in local waters.

Roughly a 1,000 them joined whale watchers for a dolphin stampede off the coast of Dana Point recently.
