The Exchange Club of San Clemente is asking the community for donations to help mount it's second annual Art for Kids' Sake auction to benefit the San Clemente Boys & Girls Club.
"All the proceeds from ticket sales goes to the Boys & Girls Club of San Clemente," said the Exchange Club's event chairman Kevin Kellerman. "If we can cover our expenses for running the event, those proceeds will also go to the Boys and Girls Club. However we need donors and/or sponsors to help defray the cost of this event."
The auction will include food, wine tasting and musical entertainment at the historic Casino San Clemente in North Beach from 1-5 p.m. April 21. The event raised $5,000 for the Boys & Girls Club last year, and organizers hope to double that in 2013.
As with The Casino and San Clemente Patch are partnering with the exchange club to host the auction. Look for further updates on Patch as the event approaches, including an online auction catalog with images and info on all the art that will be up on the block.
"Last year (our first year doing this), we had 150 guests, and with donations, we made it all work," Kellerman said. "Our goal is to double the attendance, which will raise twice as much money for the kids at the Boys & Girls Club. However, as the attendance rises, so do the food and beverage costs. That is why we are asking for any possible donations from the community."
