Ceremony Honors Veterans, Seeks Donations for Marine Unit

The Heritage of San Clemente Foundation honored veterans and Marines Sunday.

Want to support the Marines serving overseas? Right now, you can salute them with dry goods, sunscreen and other sundries--small comforts that can make a world of difference in harsh deployments.

The San Clemente Chamber of Commerce and the city are preparing a large care package for the city's adopted Marine unit, sending items to more than 1,200 Marines and sailors in Afghanistan.

On Sunday, the community gathered at Park Semper Fi for an early Veterans Day ceremony honoring all war veterans and San Clemente’s adopted 2nd Battalion 4th Marines.
