Mariposa Beach Open after Sewage Spill

The Orange County Environmental Health Division declared it safe on Saturday.

The City of San Clemente made the following announcement on July 1, 2013:

On Saturday, June 29, 2013 at 10:11 a.m., the Orange County Health Agency called the city of San Clemente’s Marine Safety Division and informed them that the water closure at Mariposa Beach access had been lifted.  The closure signs were promptly removed and the portion of the beach reopened to the public. 

Last week, the city reported small sewage spill reported at a residence Tuesday afternoon on La Paloma Street in San Clemente, a portion of the beach at 300’ upcoast and downcoast of Mariposa Beach was closed
