Storm Likely to Bring Rain to O.C. This Weekend

Rain is forecast to hit hard Friday night, with showers lingering through Sunday.

A significant Pacific storm is expected to hit Orange County on Friday night and continue through Saturday, the National Weather Service said today.

The rain will become heavy at times during the day Saturday, forecasters said, with showers lingering into Sunday evening. The snow level is expected to drop to around 7,000 feet late Friday night through Saturday.

While the storm is not expected to be as cold as the previous storm, it could still be deadly for unprepared campers and hikers, forecasters said.

Strong, gusty south to southwest winds are possible Friday night and early Saturday, according to the weather service. A slow drying and warming is expected Monday as the storm moves east.

The main impact with this story will be heavy rain and high-elevation mountain snow. The heavy rain may case minor flooding in low-lying intersections.
