Hippies of the ‘60s, your icons are being replaced. Cashing in on the similar-sounding Woodstock – the 1969 musical festival that actually took place in Bethel, N.Y. – San Clemente will have its own Woofstock, a celebration of dogs.
The family-friendly event is scheduled for Oct. 27 and is sponsored by the San Onofre Foundation and the Pet Project Foundation.
Woofstock activities include: live entertainment, K-9 demonstrations, pet-related vendors and animal rescue groups, dog and human costume contests, a dog parade along Butterfly Trail, pet contests, photo booth, free ace painting and children’s activities, raffles and refreshments.
Tickets will cost $15 if bought in advance online or $20 at the door; additional tickets are $5 per person and children under 12 are free, according to an event press releae.
Each full-price ticket includes: Woofstock goody bag; Woofstock punch card, required to receive sponsor samples or gifts, a doggie bandana and a Woofstock T-shirt
The fun will take place between noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Campfire Center & Nature Area, San Clemente State Beach Campground, 225 Avenida Calafia in San Clemente.
