San Clemente Has Fewer Fat Kids than 21 OC Cities

Though our children aren't the slimmest on the list, a UCLA Center for Health Policy Research study finds San Clemente has one of the lower child obesity rates in Orange County.

Some 21 percent of kids in San Clemente were overweight or obese as of 2010, according to a recent study.

The numbers fall well below the 38-percent state average and the 33 percent average for Orange County.

The OC town with the leanest children is Laguna Beach at 14 percent. Stanton has the most overweight kids at 52 percent.
