BeachFires Close to Finalize Sale, Remodel

The restaurants on Del Mar in San Clemente and in Ladera Ranch are set to be closed for 30 days.

According to the BeachFire website, Dave Donaldson, owner of the BeachFire restaurants in Ladera Ranch and San Clemente, has sold the businesses to two different owners.

The restaurants will be closed for a month while the sales are finalized and the restaurants remodeled.

Donaldson said in a letter on the BeachFire website:

BeachFire is not done and as I like to say, we’re just getting started. But things have changed significantly and will continue to change. During the transition, both BeachFire locations will be closed for approximately 30 days starting immediately for remodeling and completion of the ownership sales.  I regret the abrupt and sudden closing and know it will undoubtedly create undue hardships for our employees and communities. This has been a difficult decision made with great reflection and thought, along with professional advice and support. The closing allows for the completion of the sales and the necessary remodeling and improvements that will preserve the strength and future of the brand.

That's a crock of crap. Employees show up to work with no notice of "remodel". Give me a break. Dave Donaldson is a greedy thief. He did what was best for him and shut down with no notice do he could pocket last days of sales and leave all the dedicated employees to flounder. Shame on him!!! There is no sale and there is no remodel just come clean!

He's keeping The Beach Fire at the golf course open, and we all know it doesn't do 1/4 the business that the Del Mar location did. So what's the difference? Oh... could it be a contract with the City? Who's eating the loses there? The taxpayers? Just wondering...

thats right free rent at the golf coure just like the labs specail and free parking they'll make up the deference by ticketing and persecuting trades men with ladders on their trucks or a hammer handle or a 2x4 sticking out of the bed,,, raising our parking rates and water bills golf course fees and possibly a toll booth on the beach trail and now our mayor is going to have a party at the labs casino instead of some other venue that's in need of business or hasn't sued us twice , sued us twice , sued us twice , that's two times they sued us.. twice they tried to sue us eight parking spaces and they the casino can have a party for hundreds a san clement citizen mite get fined or arrested for a party with more than eight friends and family stop snob rule and capital cronyism live free or die mayor have your party at the golf course and help the city and Donaldson and his employees out

Tony, Douglas and George, do any of you have documentation or facts to back up your rants? Are any of you business owners? Do any of you know how to run a business in a difficult economy? Just wondering... Beach Fire is a great place to eat and have a drink. I know Dave and my heart goes out to him and his family during this difficult time. As a business owner I can assure you that this was not an easy decision to make.

HE LEFT THE EMPLOYEES OUT OF JOBS WITH NO NOTICE SO HE COULD HELP HIMSELF. WHAT IS FAIR HERE DEBBIE? HE SCAMMED THE SYSTEM AND HIS COMMUNITY.

Life is not fair. He shut down or sold his business so get over it and move on. Additionally, not many business owners will tell you in advance that your going to be laid off.
