Boasting hip, Mexican rancho-inspired decor, the trendy Baja-Mex restaurant Bull Taco is open for business in North Beach.

The eatery opened this month and is part of a Southern California chain with locations in Oceanside and Cardiff by the Sea.

The restaurant "sources exotic meats and seafoods from around the world," according to its website.

Richard Herdell, owner of the adjacent San Clemente Art Supply, bought the building and spruced it up in 2011, aiming to lease it to a restaurant.

Herdell said in June of 2011 that he bought the building that housed the defunct Beach Hut bar because he wanted a thriving business next to his well-established art supply shop.

Bull Taco is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.
