Reports of Future Marblehead Mall Tenants Circulate

The OC Register reports that 21 retail tenants have been announced for the planned outlet mall at San Clemente's troubled Marblehead development, but an official from the developer denies the names had been released.

The planned Plaza San Clemente outlet mall within the mired Marblehead development could be well on its way to gathering retail tenants, according to an Orange County Register report:

The signed tenants for Plaza San Clemente include Carter's, OshKosh B'gosh, Papaya, Pearl Izumi, Sun Diego Boardshops, Sunglass Outlet, Under Armour and Van Heusen. Read about the other 13 tenants that signed leases to open at Plaza San Clemente.

The caveat is that the official from mall developer Craig Realty, Anita Boeker, said in a phone interview Friday afternoon that the company did not release the names or talk to the Register. Nor would she confirm whether the names cited in the Register article were accurate, though the newspaper attributed the information to her.

"This is just too early," Boeker said. "We'd announce them probably when we were closer to breaking ground."

San Clemente Patch will continue to follow this development in the coming weeks.
