San Clemente needs to hire a new fireworks company. I've lived here 28 years and they have gotten really bad. Nothing but smoke, smoke and more smoke. Cheap fireworks and the show only lasted 18 minutes? What's up with that? Next year Dana Point. Dump this company and get a new one. The last two years have been awful.

From our home above City Hall we can see both the San Clemente and the Dana Point fireworks shows. Dana Point was a lot better. San Clemente's show was obscured by heavy smoke after the first ten minutes.

I have to say that this year's 2012 fireworks display was fantastic! I don't know if they had the same company as last years but it was great. One this that MUST be looked into next year, though, was the horrible music that blasted from Escalones. Right when the fireworks began the corner house at Calle Puente and Escalones blared out Mexican music so loud that it distracted from the fireworks. The Police Department was called numerous times and it took them several trips to finally get them to shut it off. Needless to say, after the fireworks display, the parties started up again and even worse than before. I sure hope next year the Police Department is prepared for Escalones. It was out of control and extremely unpatriotic. Pretty soon we will need a sub-station located on Escalones or Mariposa with all the activity in recent years. Just a thought....

Dana Point fireworks were obscured by smoke too. Lots and lots of smoke blew into town and we could smell the smoke up the hill on Copper Lantern near Selva Road.
