Pier Hosts Chabad for Sunday Menorah Lighting

Chabad of San Clemente will celebrate it's annual Menorah lighting on the pier Sunday, firing up a 10-foot candelabra to celebrate Hanukkah.

The 5 p.m. ceremony will include traditional games and food -- including dreidles and latkes -- as well and music.

An actor will be dressed as one of the Maccabees who, during the siege of the Second Temple in Jerusalem by the Greeks, was able to make oil for one lamp last eight nights. The Hanukkah holiday celebrates this second-century battle and the re-consecration of the temple.
