The 4,000 fans of the late
John Denver who flocked to the Dana Point Summer Concert three months ago, will
welcome news of tribute artist Jim Curry’s return to the south coast this
month.

Curry, the preeminent presenter of Denver music, will headline a
Variety Show at the San Clemente Community Center on Saturday, October
26.  And this time he is bringing along his talented wife Anne and guest
artist John Sommers, an original John Denver band member who also wrote “Thank
God I’m a Country Boy.”

This is the 2013 edition of
the annual SCMFO Variety Show from Military Family Outreach to raise funds for
low income families in north Camp Pendleton, including funding the giveaway of
1,000 Thanksgiving turkeys and meal fixings.

Fans of all stripes will be
pleased with this showcase and its various bonuses, such as spirited
competition among “Stars of Tomorrow” high school vocalists and very talented
instrumental performers from the Pioneer School of Music in Tustin.

On the
comedy side, welcome two of the best in the business. Patrick Hanifin won out
over 200 comedians in the Hollywood Laugh Factory competition and is also a
featured entertainer on Holland America cruise ships. Michael Davis has
entertained from coast to coast, starred in three Broadway shows and performed
for four US presidents at the White House and Ford’s Theater.

The sponsoring nonprofit
offers tax-deductible tickets at $25 for open seating and tickets may be
purchased online at www.militaryfamilyoutreach.com or at three San
Clemente locations: St. Andrew’s church at 2001 Frontera, Delisles Hair Design
at 111 W. Palizada and One More Bite bakery at 818 S. El Camino Real.

The San Clemente Community Center is at Del Mar and Seville in downtown San
Clemente.  Show time is 7 pm, and doors open at 6:15 when a snack bar
and raffle display will also be in full swing.
