Local San Clemente Churches unite for the purpose of serving the
city of San Clemente with service oriented projects today under the banner of
LOVE SAN CLEMENTE. According to Love San
Clemente organizer, Pastor Holland Davis from Calvary Chapel San Clemente, “Last
year Love San Clemente gathered over 50 volunteers and donated more than $
10,000 in completed projects to the city of San Clemente and local
schools. This year we’ve expanded to
over 10 projects with 100’s of volunteers.
It’s truly amazing to see people join together from different
churches.”
Projects include food collection for Family Assistance Ministries,
various clean up projects for elderly shut ins, classroom construction for
local schools, beach clean up and a Free Vacation Bible School for Military
Families on Camp Pendleton. Love San
Clemente dates are August 7 – 11 and volunteers are still needed. A full listing of projects is available on
LoveSanClemente.com
The San Clemente churches with participating volunteers include
Cornerstone Community Church, Heritage Christian Fellowship, San Clemente
Presbyterian, Southcoast Church International, The Shoreline Church of San
Clemente, Lighthouse Church, St. Michael’s Charismatic Episcopal Church and
Worship Life Calvary Chapel of San Clemente.
Participants will be wearing a Love San Clemente t-shirt with a logo
designed by Madison Davis, a free-lance designer who works with Billabong who
donated backpacks for needy children.
“We love San Clemente and are blessed by
God to live here. Our desire is to see the Church of San Clemente show the love
of God for our city in practical ways”
Pastor
Roger Gales, Heritage Christian Fellowship
“The Bible clearly says that God so
loves the world, that He gave His One and Only Son for it. It is in that
spirit of love that the churches of San Clemente have come together to give
love to our city. We see ourselves as churches that are not merely in
our city, or of our city, but churches that are for our
city. May God's love be showered over San Clemente!
George
Hulse, The Shoreline Church of San Clemente
“Love San Clemente
from my perspective: People gathering to share the Love we continue to receive,
by serving those in our community.
