Operation Semper Funny
Comedy Show to Benefit 5th
Marines Regiment
A star-studded line-up of national touring comedians are
coming together to host Operation Semper
Funny, a benefit show to raise funds for the Dana Point 5th Marines
Regiment Support Group (DPMRSG). The show will be held on Monday, July 29th at the Irvine Improv at the Irvine Spectrum Center.
Hosted by Julie Kidd, one of “Orange County’s Funniest
Housewives” and winner of the 2013 ABC’s The
View’s “Funniest Housewife in America” contest, the show will be headlined
by James P. Connolly, himself a former Leatherneck.

Also appearing with James P. Connolly are local comics Tom
Riehl, host of Riehl Food and winner of both America’s Funniest People and the Eagle Rock Comedy Festival; Ron J. Ruhman, who was featured in Billy Crystal’s film Forget Paris and the web series Best Laid Plans and rising star Billy Houston, who has performed at the Improv
and Flappers Comedy Club.
Doors open at 6 pm and the $35. price includes dinner, the
show and a donation to DPMRSG; there is a no-host bar. Tickets may be purchased at the Improv website (http://irvine.improv.com/),
at the Dana Point Concerts on July 7th, 14th, 21st
and 28th; and on July 20th at the Marine Car Wash at
South Shores Church, Crown Valley Parkway in Dana Point.
