Hello From Your New Editor

Good morning San Clemente!

Well, my photo has finally made it onto the home page, so it’s time to introduce myself – though if you’re a regular reader of schools stories, we may feel like old friends.

First of all, you should know that Adam Townsend is still at Patch, still lives in San Clemente and will still cover San Clemente government (and SONGS). He has a new position with us, and now more towns get the benefits of his talents. So I hope you don’t mind sharing!

I have been with Patch Orange County as a freelancer from the beginning, way back in late 2010. I covered – and still do – the Capistrano Unified School District, so my stories have been featured in all the Capo Patches, including San Clemente. Starting in November 2011, I became the editor for the San Juan Capistrano Patch.

While I live in SJC, I have to tell you, my husband and I used to joke that we should’ve moved to San Clemente. In our first nine years of living in Orange County, we were in San Clemente six days a week. Our daughter went to San Clemente schools as part of the Two-Way Spanish immersion program. Our church is in San Clemente. Heck, even our piano teacher is in San Clemente (hi Miss Juliet!).

So while I am a San Juan Capistranian (San Juan Capistranino? San Juan Capistranarian? Capistranera?), I do have a great love and affinity for your town. What you’re talking about at Starbucks (or Zebra House Coffee or the Lavender Lounge) and at the hair salon, THAT’s what I want us to be reporting. Please feel free to drop me a line and a news tip.
