Longtime San Clemente Resident, Youth Leader Dies

Bob Smith will be remembered for his contributions to youth and the Christian community, as well as his career in commercial construction.

Robert (Bob) Smith, who has been a San Clemente resident since 1963, has passed away at the age of 86 years.

Mr. Smith was very active as a Scout and youth sports leader and also in the First Christian (Disciples of Christ).

He was preceded in death his parents Paul & Bertha (San Clemente residents since 1964). He is survived by his four children & their spouses - Barbara (Hal), Marc (Marsha), Frank (Julie) and Bonnie (Mike).

Mr. Smith was very active in the commercial construction in this area - included Supt. of Mission Viejo Mall phase I, Ziggurat building, Laguna Hills Hospital, South Coast Hospital, remodeling and various freeway widening projects.

He was the heart and soul of his family and will be so sincerely missed.

Services at Lesneski Mortuary 2 p.m. Tuesday, with visitation from noon to 8 on Monday night.
