A police escort and Marine casualty officer took the casket of Marine Sgt. Manuel Loggins Jr. from a Chicago Airport to a funeral home in his native Joliet, Ill., late Wednesday, according to a news report.
Loggins, who was , will be buried after a private funeral Friday, according to a report in the Herald-News, a publication of the Chicago Sun-Times.
The shooting, which occurred after a traffic stop in San Clemente and was witnessed by Loggins' two young daughters, , has ignited and remains under investigation.
