Pasquale's Spirit and Dedication Touched Many Lives

Twenty-year-old Nick Pasquale is memorialized at San Clemente Presbyterian Church.

Nick Pasquale relied on persistence and hard work to fulfill his dream of playing on a college football team. He was described by his UCLA Bruin teammates as a tenacious athlete with a love for life.

It was like an entire town and an entire university gathered Sunday to mourn for Pasquale. San Clemente Presbyterian Church was crammed with people, so much so that the foyer was packed and at least another hundred people watched the service through windows and doorways.

It was all to honor Nick Pasquale, a standout player for San Clemente High School in the 2011 football season, a graduate of 2012 and a rare walk-on player with the Bruins.

Pasquale was killed last week, hit by a car, as he walked home along Camino de Los Mares Sunday morning from a party.

UCLA roommate Carl Hulick said that despite the tragedy of his death, Nick has given him, "a lesson and a motivation to be the best person" he can be.

Nick's father Mel Pasquale was overwhelmed by the support the family has received since his son's death. He said there have been 150 people at his house everyday showing up to give love and support.
