UPDATED: Three people received non-life-threatening injuries after a Friday night wreck that involved a wrong-way driver who was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

The collision was initially reported at 11:23 p.m. as a head-on collision involving two to three vehicles in the eastbound lanes of Avenida Pico. Deputies now know it was two.

According to Sgt. Joe McClintock of the San Clemente Police Services, Mark Dickens, 25, was driving westbound on Pico when he drove over the median and into oncoming traffic.

Dickens, the other driver and a passenger in that second car, both unidentified, were all taken to Mission Hospital with injuries. Dickens was later arrested.

The accident was in front of San Clemente High School at the 700 block of Pico, according to dispatch reports. The reports stated one person -- a "kid" -- was crawling in the street and another was trapped in a vehicle after the crash.
