Border Patrol agents at the San Clemente checkpoint intercepted two vehicles Wednesday with a variety of drugs and candy laced with THC, the mind-altering component of marijuana.

The first car came through at 1 a.m. Wednesday. The 18-year-old passenger of the 2012 Chrysler 200 sedan admitted having medical marijuana on him, according to a U.S. Border Patrol press release.

Searching the car, agents found three sealed boxes in the trunk of the vehicle containing lollipops, hard candy, and cookies laced with THC.

Agents also located 15 marijuana e-cigarette cartridges, three marijuana cigars, and 12.68 pounds of bulk marijuana inside the vehicle, according to the release. The two men, who were not named, were arrested.

Later Wednesday, a 24-year-old driver of a 1999 Volkswagen Golf had trouble answering questions posed by federal agents.

California National Guard members, who operate a non-intrusive, imaging-detection system, discovered anomalies within the rear seats of the vehicle, officials said.

“Agents inspected the car seats and discovered an electronically controlled, non-factory compartment containing eight wrapped bundles,” the release states. “Six bundles tested positive for methamphetamine and two bundles tested positive for cocaine. The driver was arrested.”

Altogether, the two busts yieldied 23 pounds of drugs which had a street value of $160,000.

The suspects and narcotics in both instances were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration and face drug-smuggling charges.  The vehicles were seized by the U.S. Border Patrol.

What? Cocaine & Meth lollypops? Am I reading this correctly? Wow, I can't imagine how dangerous that could be to many people, but as far as medical marijuana, if it's legit, it would have been OK, but this guy was obviously, "one toke over the line", ha, but good job at catching this Ntl Guard!
