Border Patrol Seizes $218,000 in Cocaine in Diaper Bag

The seizure was just one in a busy week—the Border Patrol throughout San Diego County snagged $850,000 worth of meth, coke and marijuana in the first week of August.

Border Patrol agents last week seized nearly 22 pounds of cocaine found in the diaper bag of a motorist stopped at the San Clemente station south of town, authorities said.

The woman, a 21-year-old U.S. citizen, was driving a gray Chevy Trailblazer.

A drug dog indicated there were narcotics in the vehicle, and a search turned up six bundles of cocaine in the diaper bag in the back seat, agents said.
