Confused Caller Reports 'Catatonic' Trespassers

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, deputies catch a car thief at 1 a.m., an angry man asks for free beer from strangers, and a suspicious real estate walk-through.

At 5:01 p.m. Sunday Nov. 3, an extremely confused caller reported a group of suspicious people in the 100 block of Avenida Dominguez. The caller said groups of catatonic people were inside his home. The man also said he did not know any of them and was unsure how they got into his home. The informant suspected that the people may have eaten something to cause hallucinations.

At 1:31 a.m. Sunday Nov. 3, a worried informant claimed his vehicle had been stolen in the 500 block of Avenida De Los Lobos Marinos. The caller witnessed an unknown person driving away with his gray Toyota. Deputies quickly arrived and helped the informant track down the alleged thief. They located the vehicle and arrested a 21-year-old man. The man is currently in custody with no bail amount posted.

At 8:52 a.m. Sunday Nov. 3, someone reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. A man in a gray pants and holding a walker was shouting obscenities at Ralph’s customers and asking strangers to buy him beer.

At 10:30 a.m. Sunday Nov. 3, deputies received a report of a suspicious person in the 200 block of El Portal. A man in a white shirt and black pants was inspecting houses and using a cell phone to take pictures.
