Crashes Slow A.M. Traffic in San Clemente

A three-car I-5 crash and another fender bender on the highway through town slowed traffic this morning.

Two traffic accidents in I-5 through San Clemente choked up traffic this morning: a three-car wreck at the Camino de Estrella exit and a fender-bender between a Chevy HHR and a flatbed.

One injury was reported as a result of the first wreck at 9:40 a.m. among three vehicles, but lanes were cleared up in less than an hour.

The victim was taken to Mission Hospital as a result of the Estrella crash, the O.C. Register reported.

The second wreck happened at 11:00 a.m. heading north on the I-5 at the Avenida Presidio exit. The flatbed and Chevy were out of lanes and on the shoulder within 20 minutes.

The passenger in the flatbed -- shipping construction materials as part of an Anaheim company -- said the woman in the Chevy was able to drive the vehicle away from the scene.
