CRIME REPORTS: Poolside Assault and a Bare Butt

Selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services Log over the past few days.

At 6:41 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a vehicle burglary in the 100 block of Calle Amistad. According to the report, a black Honda CRV was burglarized at the Pinnacle Apartments in Talega. 

At 6:40 a.m. Friday, deputies were called to assist firefighters in the 200 block of Terramar. The caller said his 59-year-old-wife fell off their balcony.

At 1:15 a.m. Friday, deputies arrested a 21-year-old man in the 1100 block of Calle Del Cerro. The man allegedly got into a fight with his roommate and caused facial injuries. The roommate did not want to press charges.

At 12:24 a.m. Friday, deputies arrested a 32-year-old man in the 100 block of Avenida Pico. An intoxicated man allegedly assaulted his wife near the Ole Hanson pool. The woman was transported to San Clemente Hospital. The man was taken into custody and bail was set for $100,000. 

At 9:01 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a fireworks violation near the Plaza a La Playa and Avenida La Costa intersection. Minors were seen throwing fireworks into the air at Riviera State Beach

At 7:23 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. A female employee of a popular comfort food restaurant allegedly hit the informant and started yelling at customers. Deputies reported the woman’s eyes were very dilated and she appeared to be under the influence of narcotics. 

At 6:58 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 800 block of El Camino Real. A man in a blue striped shirt walked out of a RiteAid with a cart full of beer and ice. The man was last seen walking around to the rear of the store. 

At 6:15 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported indecent exposure near the North El Camino Real and El Portal intersection. A man reportedly showed his bare butt to people who walked by the alley near the Mexican market. There was no report of an arrest. 

At 4:55 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance at 1271 Sarmentoso. Minors were seen skateboarding on the roof of Bernice Ayer Middle School. The informant saw three to four minors climbing up the portables. 

At 12:11 a.m. Thursday, deputies arrested a 44-year-old man on suspicion of burglary in the 1500 block of Buena Vista. The suspect allegedly broke into a woman’s home, but was detained by a neighbor. Police took him into custody and bail was set at $15,000.
