CRIME REPORTS: Shaggy Advil Thief, Hotel Drug Dealer

At 12:31 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 400 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, three women were seen in a heated verbal argument at the bar there. 

At 10:01 p.m. Thursday, deputies arrested a 23-year-old woman near the I-5 and Cristianitios intersection. The woman was driving near the Carl’s Jr. parking lot when police conducted a traffic stop and discovered she had a warrant out for her arrest. The woman was taken into custody and bail was set for $30,000.00. 

At 8:24 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a hit-and-run near the East Avenida Pico and Calle Frontera intersection. The report stated that a red Porsche and a baby-blue Continental had collided. The driver of the Porsche was seen pushing the vehicle towards San Clemente High School.

At 7:51 p.m. Thursday, deputies were called to conduct a welfare check near the Esplande and El Camino Real intersection. According to the report, a homeless man was seen laying face down in a patch of dirt near Taco Bell. The man was wearing a dirty brown leather jacket and there was no request for paramedics.

At 6:55p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the first block of Calle Pastadero. According to the report, a husband and wife had gotten into a heated physical argument. The woman reported that her husband tried to strangle her and the husband said, “my wife tried to attack me with a pencil.” There was no suspicion of narcotics. 

At 7:53 a.m. Thursday, a local transient woman was reportedly calling 9-1-1 when there was no emergency. 

At 11:36 p.m. Wednesday, deputies arrested a 38-year-old man in the 700 block of El Camino Real. The man appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and was possibly selling drugs at the hotel there. He was taken into custody and bail was set for $20,000.00. 

At 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a robbery in the 2400 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, an employee of a store was able to stop a shaggy haired man with a grey beard before he stole a pack of cigarettes. The man managed to escape with some Advil.

At 6:38 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a drunk public in the 600 block of Calle Campana. According to the report, a drunk man was seen drinking beer and throwing objects at vehicles from from a balcony. There was no report of an arrest.

At 4:13 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 2400 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, a transient man carrying an American flag walked into a shell gas station and refused to pay for an ice cream.
