CRIME: BB Bandit, Sneaky Redecorator

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log for this past week.

At 10:09 a.m. Tuesday, a stolen vehicle was reported on the 300 block of Encino Lane.

At 9:12 a.m. Tuesday, a 30-year-old man was arrested on the 100 block of Marquita on suspicion of stealing his grandmother’s vehicle. She is in the hospital. He also allegedly threatened to kill his cousin and is suspected of holding narcotics in the residence. He is still in custody.

At 11:57 a.m. Monday, a stolen vehicle was reported on the 100 block of Avenida Serra. 

At 11:56 a.m. Monday, a woman called from the 100 block of Avenida Serra and stated that her ex-roommate may have been breaking into her residence since last October and is stealing items and rearranging her furniture. 

At 7:18 a.m. Monday, a large dead deer blocked traffic in the middle two lanes of Avenida Vista Hermosa and Camino Vera Cruz.

At 6:53 p.m. Sunday, on the 3700 block of Calle Casino, police were called because a 15- to 16-year-old boy shot his BB gun at his neighbor’s house across the street and hit the neighbor’s hand. The teen also made threats to shoot her 11-year-old child. The teen’s mother was notified and stated she would take the gun away, but police were still called to handle the matter. Reports indicate no arrest was made.

At 5:20 p.m. Sunday, a woman was chased out of her house on the 200 block of Avenida Montalvo only wearing a robe and said her husband was screaming, acting crazy and charged at her. No arrests were indicated in the report.

At 5:10 p.m. Sunday, a stolen car was reported on the 100 block of Avenida Pico that was parked on Calle Sacramento.

At 8:39 p.m. Saturday,  a woman on Calle Mandarina called the police and stated her nephew made terrorist threats over the phone to kill her and believes he is armed because he is from Texas. No arrest was made. 

At 10:58 a.m. Saturday, a 33-year-old man drove to his ex’s house on the 700 block of Via Nublado to pick up his kids while he was allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody and has since been released.  

At 8:50 p.m. Friday, a 29-year-old female was arrested on Calle del Cerro at a traffic stop on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication with her four year old daughter in the car. She is still in custody.

At 4:46 p.m. Friday, authorities arrested a 28-year-old male suspected of perpetrating a robbery on the 200 block of El Camino Real. The suspect fled on foot and carried a knife in his pocket, reports state. The suspect was taken into custody and has since been released. 

At 4:26 p.m. Friday, a woman was arrested on the 900 block of Avenida Pico on suspicion of stealing another woman’s purse in a store. The suspect is still in custody.
