CRIME REPORTS: Creepy Photographers, Underage Drinking, Pier Rat Vandalism

Here are various crimes pulled from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 10:36 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a vandalism-in-progress near the El Camino Real and Avenida Cadiz intersection. Four to five minors had shattered the door of an Orange Country Transportation Authority bus with their skateboards. The minors were believed to be coming from Huntington Beach and were last seen on Avenida Presidio.

At 6:54 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Boca Del Canon and La Rambla intersection. There were subjects throwing rocks and water balloons at people on the beach from a residence at North Beach. There was no report of an arrest.

At 10:19 a.m. Thursday, police conducted a welfare check near the I-5 Freeway and Christianitos intersection. The report said a woman was walking in the bike lane and was wandering into traffic. There was no further report.

At 12:23 a.m. Thursday, a 37-year-old man was arrested near the El Camino Real and Canada intersection. Police reported the man was on drugs and had a warrant out for his arrest. He was taken into custody with a bail amount of $15,000 dollars. 

At 11:06 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a noise disturbance in the 100 block of Santa Margarita. There was a loud party in progress with a lot of underage drinking in progress. There was no report of an arrest.

At 8:19 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in a vehicle in the 500 block of Via Barracuda. There was a man smoking medical marijuana in his vehicle and was acting strange. The report said the man got out of his vehicle and then urinated on the car. There was no further report. 

At 7:42 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a vandalism in progress from the 600 block of Avenida Victoria. Several subjects had spray painted in the tunnel which leads to the pier. The informant was calling from Cassano’s Pizza and said he knows who the suspects are. 

At 7:25 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the first block of Via Belleza. The caller said a man driving a white Toyota Camry pulled up along side their vehicle and quickly took a picture of their five-year-old son. The man was last seen turing onto Via Cancion. 

At 6:39 p.m. Wednesday, police conducted a welfare check in the 2900 block of Estancia. A 51-year-old was ranting and being very combative over a recent break up. The report said the subject was suicidal and had a knife in his possession. There was no further report. 

At 10:59 p.m.Tuesday, a caller reported a firework violation in the 400 block of Linda Lane. The caller heard loud explosions from the park at Linda Lane and was sure there were fireworks in the area.
