CRIME REPORTS: Drunks, Brandishing Weapons, and Rowdy Minors

Here are various reports pulled from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 300 block of Pas De Cristobal. Several minors were seen throwing water balloons from a white Toyota Camry and a dark truck. The minors were driving up and down Esplanade, and were last seen heading towards T-street.

At 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a drunk in public near the Camino De Estrella and I-5 freeway intersection. According to the report, a woman fell in the bushes at the entrance of the northbound freeway onramp. The woman continued to stumble all over the rode and was almost hit by several vehicles.

At 8:27 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria. There were four minors hiding near the San Clemente city lifeguard tower seven and were throwing rocks at people. There was no report of an arrest.

At 5:02 p.m. Tuesday, a caller made a report of someone brandishing a weapon near the Avenida Talega and Camino Tierra Grande intersection. Two men and one woman were waving a rifle and a handgun around in a dirt lot. The caller they could see the woman counting bullets and four vehicles were parked in the lot.

At 10:09 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a burglary in progress in the 100 block of El Camino Real. The informant was leaving Big Helyn’s and saw a person trying to break into a Tan Dodge Durango. The suspect was last seen heading south and jumping a fence.

At 2:11 p.m. Monday, a traffic accident with unknown-injuries occurred on east Avenida Pico. A covered truck crashed into a water main and water was spraying uncontrollably. The fire department responded to the call. 

At 1:09 a.m. Monday, a caller report suspicious persons in the 800 block of Calle Dulcinea. There was a car parked at an intersection and the caller was concerned the subjects in the vehicle were doing drugs or having intercourse. There was no further report.

At 11:42 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a drunk in public near the north Ola Vista and Avenida Del Mar intersection. A woman in a white cut off t-shirt was seen stumbling down Ola Vista towards Palizada. 

At 6:49 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a drunk driver from the 100 block of San Luis Rey. A 40-year-old woman was reported driving under the influence of prescription medication and drove off from a residence against the informants wishes. The woman was also driving her nine-year-old child and were believed to be heading home in San Diego. 

At 1:28 a.m. Saturday, a 21-year old man was arrested for trespassing in first block of Via Cartaya. The man was driving a four door sedan on a service trail and was entering the trail at the end of La Pata. The man was taken into custody and was released on a bond.
