CRIME REPORTS: Fiery Tennis Balls, Mad Drunks
These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.
At 6:14 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a suspicious person in a vehicle in the 200 block of El Portal. The informant was suspicious of three men who were seen smoking an unknown substance out of a pipe. The subjects were also throwing trash out of the window and into a ravine.
At 5:00 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 500 block of Camino De Estrella. The report stated that a woman was detained by deputies for stealing and was being uncooperative.
At 2:32 p.m. Monday, deputies were called to investigate a person down in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. The report stated that a woman was detained being drunk in public. The woman was passed out in a stairwell at the Ocean View City Plaza and smelled like vodka. There was also a bottle of vodka near the woman. She was transported to San Clemente Hospital for treatment.

At 1:46 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1700 block of Avenida Estacion. The informant reported two minors who were tossing cigarettes and taking down signs near city lifeguard tower 12. There was no report of an arrest.
At 11:51 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 300 block of Calle Escuela. Deputies detained three subjects at the Verde Park tennis court for playing tennis with flaming tennis balls.

At 10:52 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious person in a vehicle near the Calle Bahia and Avenida Santa Margarita intersection. The report stated that a subject was seen smoking marijuana in a dark Toyota Tacoma.
At 9:07 p.m. Sunday, deputies assisted an out side agency in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria. There was a report of a man who illegally jumped off the San Clemente Pier and proceeded swim towards shore. The man collected his boots when he got back to shore and left the area.
At 5:37 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a drunk in public near the Avenida Del Mar and Ola Vista intersection. The report stated that a drunk man was seen urinating near the post office and then proceeded over to Avilas Ranchito Mexican restaurant where he passed out at the bar. Employes requested if the man could be removed.
