CRIME REPORTS: Heroin Overdose, Bar Fights and a Motorcycle Accident

Here are various reports pulled from the San Clemente police dispatch log over the past few days.

At 1:32 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Avenida Del Poniente. There was a loud and out-of-control party in the area with several minors drinking and setting off fireworks. 

At 9:39 p.m. Thursday, a motorcycle accident occurred near the Calle Sombra and Calle Amanecer intersection. A motorcyclist had crashed and broken a leg. 

At 8:15 p.m. Thursday, police investigated a dead body in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. A 30-year-old-woman had died from an overdose of heroin. The woman’s body was transported to San Clemente hospital where her boyfriend was waiting.

At 6:36 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a reckless driver near the Calle Campana and Camino De Los Mares. According to the report, a 23-year-old-man was peeling out and driving really fast through a neighborhood in a black two-door Honda Civic. 

At 2:02 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of El Camino Real. A taxi cab driver saw a group of five to six people fighting in the parking lot of Goody’s Tavern. No weapons were seen.

At 7:05 p.m. Wednesday, police arrested a 26-year-old-man in the 200 block of Via Presa. The informants boyfriend was out of control and was damaging her property. According to the report the boyfriend was punching walls and smashed her windshield. He was taken into custody and has since been released.

At 1:04 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Calle Puente and Calle Escalones intersection. Several woman were seen driving illegally southbound on Escalones in a red, open dune buddy with a roll bar. 

At 11:56 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious person near the I-5 freeway and Camino De Estrella intersection. A transient man was walking into traffic lanes and was going to cause an accident. 

At 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the first block of Via Durango. The informant was the nanny of the house and was concerned about the children's mother who has a court order to stay away from the house. The children's mother was banging on the door and throwing items at vehicles.

At 6:22 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1500 block of Buena Vista. There was a group of people smoking pot in an empty lot near Calle Colina. The informant said this has been a reccurring problem.
