CRIME REPORTS: Melon Chuckers, Tip Jar Thief

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.

At 10:48 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the Arbolado and Camino Vera Cruz intersection. According to the report, a tool box and several tools had fallen into the street and were causing a disturbance in traffic. 

At 10:38 a.m. Friday, deputies received a property for destruction call in the 100 block of Cristianitos Road. The informant asked the authorities to help her dispose of some ammunition. 

At 9:50 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. According to the report, a female transient was yelling and throwing objects at citizens who passed by her.

At 12:34 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 5600 block of Costa Maritima. According to the report, the informant was upset about six men who were drinking and being loud in a jacuzzi. 

At 8:26 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 1100 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, a man walked into the Taste of China restaurant and ran out with the tip jar. The subject appeared to be a teenager and was last seen running behind 7 Eleven.

At 7:37 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance near the West El Portal and Buena Vista Intersection. According to the report, a subject in a white t-shirt and old English writing that which said “Orange County” was seen putting rocks on the train tracks so the train would run them over. The man was with a group who was grilling and partying near the pedestrian bridge at 204 beach. 

At 12:55 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the Avenida Vista Hermosa and Camino Faro intersection. According to the report, a manhole cover was off and laying in the gutter on the ocean side of the street. 

At 2:21 a.m. Wednesday, deputies arrested a 52-year-old-man for a narcotics violation in the first block of Junipero Serra Road. The man was taken into custody and has since been released. 

At 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the Avenida Vista Hermosa and Avenida Talega intersection. The report stated two subjects were throwing water balloons at passing vehicles. 

At 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Avneida Del Mar. The report stated that a male and two female minors were throwing watermelons from the roof of Sam’s Shoes. There was no report of an arrest.
