CRIME REPORTS: Local Man Stabbed near Tavern

These are various reports selected from the San Clemente Police Services Dispatch log over the past few days.

At 2:08 a.m. Saturday, police received a call regarding a stabbing at Oles Tavern located at 127 South El Camino Real. The suspected stabber is 20-year-old John Wesley Klimenko. The victim was a 27-year-old San Clemente local who frequents Ole’s Tavern. Klimenko was reportedly jumping fences and running between buildings as deputies had him at gun point. The victim left the hospital the night he got stabbed a received several stitches. Klimenko was taken to the Central Men's Jail in Santa Ana with bail set at $50,000.

At 2:38 p.m. Monday, deputies assisted animal control near the East Avenida Pico and I-5 freeway intersection. According to the report, a distressed dog had been locked inside of a grey Toyota Prius for at least 30 minutes. The informant was concerned because it was really hot outside. 

At 2:30 a.m. Monday, deputies arrested a 23-year-old man in the 1800 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, the man was under the influence of drugs and was resisting a peace officer. The man had a previously existing warrant and had been loitering at an Amtrak station since 8:00 p.m.

At 8:50 p.m. Sunday, deputies arrested a 45-year-old-man in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria. The report stated the woman was drunk in public and passed out under a bridge. Deputies discovered the woman had a previously existing warrant and was in violation of a court order. She was taken into custody and bail was set for $5,000.00. 

At 8:47 p.m. Sunday, deputies assisted a citizen in the 2300 block of Calle Lobina. The informant was reportedly assaulted the previous night by a 15-year-old who was suspected to be under the influence of mushrooms.

At 5:18 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 100 block of Avenida Florenica. According to the report, three minors were seen throwing objects in an empty lot and the informant felt it was unsafe for them to be there. 

At 2:49 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of Avenida La Pata. The report stated there were several people on scooters inside the skate park and one of them hit the informant’s friend in the chest. 

At 3:03 a.m. Sunday, deputies assisted an outside agency in the 200 block of Avenida Rosa. The report stated a 20-year-old-man was found with a bloody face and was unconscious but breathing. The Orange County Fire Authority was responding to the call. 

At 2:44 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Avenida Madrid and Avenida Victoria intersection. The reported stated a group of six to eight men and women were seen fighting in the street and throwing glass bottles. The fight was reportedly near the San Clemente pier. 

At 11:01 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance in the first block of Vista Encanta. According to the report, a group of 30 to 40 minors had shown up at a Seaview Town Home pool and started partying. 

At 10:41 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1500 block of Buena Vista. The informant reported that a group of female minors were running around the neighborhood and egged their home. The informant stated that it has been an ongoing issue. 

At 8:43 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a battery in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. According to the report, a man was kicked in the face and experienced a laceration of his right eye. The man was transported to the San Clemente Hospital for treatment. 

At 5:23 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance near the East Avenida Pico and El Camino Real intersection. The report stated that a local art gallery was giving out alcohol without a proper, permit and some of the subjects may be underage. 

At 5:00 p.m. Saturday, deputies arrested a 49-year-old-woman near the El Camino Real and Avenida Palizada intersection. According to the report, an extremely intoxicated woman was walking her dog and was starting to walk into traffic. The woman was detained after police discovered the woman was on probation. The woman was taken into custody and there was no posted bail amount. 

At 11:03 a.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance near the South Ola Vista and Avenida Cadiz intersection. According to the report, 10-year-old-boy was tooting an air horn at passing cars and was almost causing them to crash. There was no report of an arrest.
