CRIME REPORTS: Assailants-in-Law; Pepper-Spraying Bouncer

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days,

At 4:00 a.m. Wednesday, a caller witnessed a vandalism in progress near the Calle De Los Molinos and Calle Valle intersection. The informant reportedly witnessed a man in dark clothes using a metal object to break windows near the Chase Bank. The man was also seen kicking the windows of an upholstery store. There was no report of an arrest. 

At 10:50 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 300 block of Avenida Cabrillo. The report stated that several subjects were seen fighting, throwing beer bottles, doing burn outs in vehicles, and lighting illegal fireworks. Deputies responded and did not witness any fighting.

At 8:16 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Avenida Aragon. Deputies detained a man and a woman who had gotten into a heated physical fight near El Parado. There was no use of weapons and it was unknown if narcotics were involved.

At 7:42 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a firework violation in the 100 block of Mariposa. The informant reported that illegal fireworks were being set off near the Calle Puente and El Camino Real intersection. 

At 12:03 p.m. Tuesday, deputies arrested a 27-year-old-man in the 2300 block of El Camino Real. The report stated the man was on probation and was taken into custody with a bail amount of $100,000.

At 11:29 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a drunk driver near the North El Camino Real and El Portal intersection. The report stated that a champagne Buick convertible was seen swerving and going about 2mph. The vehicle was last seen heading south on El Camino Real. 

At 4:25 p.m. Monday, a unknown trouble report was made for a man who ran in front of a train around 4:20 p.m. near the Camino Capistrano and El Camino Real intersection. The man was a 59-year-old San Clemente resident and his body was found near a drainage ditch, according to the police report. The police have since released more details and identified the deceased. At 9:33 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 3800 block of Vista Blanca. The informant reported that a road bike and money was taken from their garage the previous night.

At 2:20 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a family disturbance in the 200 block of Avenida Del Poniente. The informant reported he was attacked by his sister and brother-in-law and experienced a broken rib and facial trauma. Deputies responded and the man was transported to San Clemente Hospital for treatment. The sister and brother-in-law had left the scene before police arrived. 

At 5:51 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious person in a vehicle in the 800 block of El Camino Real. The informant witnessed a man and a woman dumping out beer in the Rite Aid parking lot. The subjects then proceeded to purchase beer from the store and drink it in the parking lot. 

At 3:20 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a battery in the 100 block of Avenida Pelayo. The caller stated they were pepper sprayed by a bouncer at Ole’s Tavern the previous night.

At 10:32 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of El Portal. The informant reported there was a loud party in progress with a lot of underage drinking.
