CRIME REPORTS: KFC Biscuit Fury, Rowdy Cheese Face

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 10:02 p.m. Monday, police were called to help keep the peace for a disturbance in the first block of Via Sonrisa. According to the report, a man and his neighbors got into a heated argument regarding parking and trash can issues.  

At 7:35 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a drunk driver near the East Avenida Pico and Avenida La Pata intersection. The informant reportedly saw a blue Ford minivan swerving all over the road before the driver pulled over in the Union Bank parking lot. 

At 7:05 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Coronado Lane. According to the report, a man got into an argument with his daughter in regard to her burning sage in her room. The daughter was upset and threw a lighter and the man and caused his lip to bleed. There were no drugs or alcohol involved.

At 6:36 p.m. Monday, police detained two subject for a misdemeanor narcotic violation in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria. San Clemente City lifeguards informed police of several subjects who were selling marijuana in the Pier Bowl area. Lifeguards kept watch of the subjects until a police officer was able to detain the subjects. 

At 8:56 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. According to the report, a transient man was playing a guitar near the CVS in the Ocean View Palza, and refused to leave when asked. A security guard was attempting to make the man leave.

At 7:02 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a battery in the 600 block of El Camino Real. The informant was an employe of Kentucky Fried Chicken and was reportedly pushed and shoved by a man in his 50’s who was upset over the quality of his biscuits. 

At 3:13 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 300 block of Cazador Lane. According to the report, four transients were detained by police for setting up camp in a canyon area. 

At 8:44 p.m. Saturday, a caller made a report of unknown trouble in the 100 block of Avenida Trieste. The informant reportedly saw a red distress flare shot off near Cypress Cove. It was unsure if the flare came from Cypress Cove or the Califia area. 

At 7:02 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance near the North El Camino Real and Avenida Palizada intersection. Police reportedly detained four subjects who were urinating and jumping on cars in the parking lot near the Inner Limits Smoke Shop. 

At 4:43 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria. The informant reportedly saw several minors throwing water balloons at joggers on Avenida Maltesada 

At 2:23 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance at the Ralph’s Skate Park in the 200 block of Avenida La Pata. According to the report, a group of minors appeared to be throwing skateboard wheels at the informant's vehicle and people passing by. The caller refereed to the minors as a “gang of little thugs.” 

At 1:26 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a burglary in progress in the 2300 block of El Camino Real. The informant reported that a computer was taken from a vehicle in the parking lot of the OC Tavern. 

At 10:26 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Del Pacifico. The informant reported that her boyfriend refused to leave her residence when asked and took off running when the police were called. 

At 3:21 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1800 block of El Camino Real. The informant reported that a tall and rowdy man was causing a disturbance at 7-Eleven. The man also had chili cheese all over his face and beard. 

At 12:43 p.m. April 11, a caller reported a suspicious person near the Vera Cruz and Camino De Los Mares intersection. According to the report, a man on a bicycle was yelling, cussing and acting very aggressive in front of a school. 

At 11:51 a.m. April 11, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 100 block of Avenida Pico. The report stated that four transient subject’s were camping out near the old bowling alley and The Casino. 

At 9:35 a.m. April 11, police arrested a 65-year-old-woman near the South El Camino Real and Avenida Victoria intersection. According to the report, a local transient woman was taken into custody with a bail amount of $15,000. The report did not specify was she was arrested, but the woman is known in town for screaming at passers by. 

At 3:45 a.m. April 11, a caller reported hearing a firearm discharged near the Camino Mira Costa and Camino Alondra intersection. Two separate informants reportedly heard at least five gun shots come from an area near the I-5 freeway. 

At 1:54 a.m April 11, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Avenida Serra. According to the report, a group of men and women got into a fight and were seen rolling around on the ground. One man had no shirt on. 

At 11:34 p.m. April 10, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 1800 block of El Camino Real. The informant was reportedly upset about several transient subjects who were sleeping and loitering near the Japanese restaurant there.
