CRIME REPORTS: Stoned Kid Calls Cops on Mom for Taking iPod

These are various reports selected from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 10:01 p.m. Monday, police arrested a 51-year-old man on Via Malaga in Talega. According to neighborhood callers' reports to police about a half hour after his arrest, the suspect had plowed down a number of stop signs and landscaping on Calle Portofino on his way into the Malaga neighborhood from Avenida Talega.

At 2:30 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a narcotics violation near the I-5 freeway and the Chtistianitos intersection. According to the report, the United States Boarder Patrol was handling a drug situation.

At 2:25 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a family dispute near the first block of Avenida Junipero. According to the report, a man and a woman who both appeared to be in their 30’s were walking up and down the street arguing at each other.

At 11:20 a.m. Monday, police arrested a 35-year-old-woman in the 100 block of Avenida Presidio. Police detained the woman for being in possession of illegal drug paraphernalia and discovered she has a warrant out for her arrest. She was taken into custody and there was no posted bail amount.

At 7:07 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a suspicious person near the Cristianitos Road and I-5 Freeway intersection. According to the report, the informant saw a man carrying a small black object in his hand and suspected it was a gun since the man was acting very strange.

At 6:22 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 900 block of Avenida Pico. The informant reported seeing a man run out of the store with a 12 pack of Smirnoff Ice and drive off in a rusty colored station wagon with three other people. They were last seen heading toward the freeway. 

At 2:20 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the Camino Tierra Grande and Avenida Talega intersection. According to the report, a group of minors were seen throwing rocks at a stop sign and into traffic. 

At 9:30 a.m. Sunday, police assisted the San Clemente City Lifeguards near the 600 block of Avenida Del Mar. Lifeguards were contacting someone who was smoking on the beach near tower four.

At 8:46 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 700 block of Via Barracuda. According to the report, a 15-year-old minor called police because his mother took his iPod away. The report stated the minor was possibly under the influence of marijuana.

At 11:22 p.m. Saturday, police arrested a 34-year-old woman near the East Avenida Pico intersection. According to the report, the woman was intoxicated when she drove her white Tahoe up a sidewalk and flattened her tires. She was taken into custody and has since been released. 

At 11:02 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance near the El Camino Real and Canada intersection. According to the report, seven men who all appeared to be intoxicated were getting ready to fight each other in the Rite Aid parking lot.
