CRIME REPORTS: Near Drowning at Swim School, Redbull Thief

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.

At 12:39 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of Christianitos Road. The caller reported a party in the Pinnacle apartments where minors were drinking alcohol and possibly burglarizing the residence. 

At 11:54 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a firearm discharge in the 200 block of Avenida Vista Montana. The informant was hiding in her closet at the Seacrest apartments after hearing four gun shots which appeared to be near by. The informant’s husband was a marine and was checking the area.

At 8:30 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 1100 block of Calle Puente. The informant was reportedly concerned about people who were sending paper candle lanterns into the air from Max Berg park. The informant was worried they could start a fire.

At 8:01 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a vandalism in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. The report stated a man intentionally rammed a grocery cart into the informant’s black Acura after disputing a parking issue. 

At 9:45 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported an indecent exposure near the Camino De Los Mares and 5 Freeway intersection. The report stated a homeless man was throwing glass bottles and stripped off his t-shit and blue jeans. There was no report of an arrest.

At 9:44 p.m. Wednesday, a deputies were called to assist firefighters in the 100 block of Avenida Pala. The report stated a man was transported to San Clemente hospital for overdosing on alcohol and being combative. 

At 5:22 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 2300 block of Calle Balandra. The report stated that two neighbors had gotten into a heated verbal argument and one spit in the informant’s face. There was no report of any weapons used.

At 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, deputies arrested a 39-year-old-woman in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. The woman was arrested after stealing multiple Redbulls from a Ralphs grocery store. The woman was also seen changing her license plate on a white Mazda. She was taken into custody and there was no posted bail amount.

At 1:08 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a drunk driver in the first block of Calle Sol. The report stated that the informant detained a drunk woman who was driving recklessly. The woman almost hit the informant when she ran over a curb in her white Saturn.

At 11:14 a.m. Wednesday, deputies assisted firefighters in the 100 block of Avenida Granada. Firefighters were dispatched to transport a baby who was found floating in a hot tub at a local swim school. The child was still breathing and the report stated it was a near drowning. The child was transported to Mission Hospital for further treatment.
