CRIME REPORTS: Man Kicks Girl out of Explorer; Pizza Bandits

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.

At 2:14 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 3300 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, three marines were kicked out of Big Helyns bar and later attempted to get back into the bar by hoping the fence to the patio area. 

At 9:04 p.m. Monday, deputies arrested a 23-year-old-man near the Avenida Vaquero and Camino Capistrano intersection. The man was reportedly yelling and fighting with a woman near the seventh hole of the San Clemente Municipal Golf Course. Deputies conducted a vehicle search and took the man into custody with a bail amount of $20,000.00. 

At 10:27 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 1800 block of El Camino Real. The report stated that a 60-year-old-man was detained for stealing a cigar from 7-Eleven and was being semi-cooperative.

At 8:17 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a battery in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. A 38-year-old-man reported from the San Clemente Hospital that he was hit in the head the previous night at a 7-Eleven.

At 7:18 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance near the Avenida Aragon and El Prado intersection. The informant reportedly wanted deputies to contact six to eight minors who were drinking beer in the center of Max Berg Plaza Park.

At 1:43 a.m. Monday, a caller reportedly heard a firearm discharged in the 2300 block of Avenida Marejada. The informant reported hearing three shots followed by a pause, and then another shot in the New Providence neighborhood. 

At 10:58 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 100 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, the informant stopped a fight in the Ole’s Tavern parking lot and had a man detained who experienced a head injury. Firefighters were responding to the call. 

At 9:29 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 200 block of El Portal. According to the report, a group of minors ran off with several pizzas that a Pizza Hut delivery man was supposed to deliver. The minors were last seen running towards Las Palmas School. 

At 7:57 p.m. Sunday, deputies arrested a 24-year-old-man near the Camino Vera Cruz and Costa intersection. The man was taken into custody after allegedly beating up his girlfriend and kicking her out of a black Ford Explorer. The woman was transported to Mission Hospital for treatment and the man was taken into custody with a bail amount of $100,000. 

At 7:33 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the Portico Del Sur and Camino De Los Mares intersection. According to the report, a group of minors were chucking rocks at passing vehicles. THe minors were last seen running into a housing community. 

At 6:55 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 600 block of Avenida Victoria. According to the report, a man was running on the pier and proceeded to spray people with an unknown chemical substance. Deputies reportedly detained one subject.
