CRIME REPORTS: Smoking Drugs, Stealing Steaks, Crashing Bikes

Here are various reports pulled from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log over the past few days.

At 3:53 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a suspicious person on the 400 block of Camino San Clemente. A man who frequently visits the woman’s residence was arguing with with her in front of two small children and was likely to be under the influence of alcohol or prescription drugs.

At 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a petty theft on the 100 block of Avenida Cota. A subject in a large, older-looking white truck was seen stealing a full trashcan of recyclables.

At 7:56 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of Avenida Cabrillo. Two women were in a heated argument and residents could hear them screaming and cursing at each other.

At 12:18 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a call near the Avenida Del Mar and Avenida Victoria intersection. There was a subject throwing rocks at a passing train. There was no report of an arrest. 

At 7:23 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a petty theft on the 900 block of El Camino Real. Two minors reportedly stole a case of beer and several steaks from the Ralph’s grocery store. The minors left in a white Ford Mustang and were last seen heading south bound on El Camino Real.

At 5:54 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the 1500 block of Buena Vista. A group of seven or eight minors were seen smoking unknown drugs behind the bushes that overlook North Beach. 

At 12:33 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. The informant stated that he could hear his neighbor beating his 13-year-old son.

At 13:03 p.m. Tuesday, police assisted and outside agency in the 200 block of Vista Del Oceano. The police assisted the Orange County Fire Authority with a bicyclist who had crashed and suffered broken ribs and various abrasions. The bicyclist was taken to Mission Hospital. 

At 11:01 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a vandalism in progress near the Del Mar and Granada intersection. The informant saw a minor tagging a wall with spray paint. 

At 11:53 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance on the 300 block of Camino De Estrella. The informant reported there was a homeless man sleeping in the restrooms of a shopping center and was refusing to leave.
