CRIME REPORTS: Branch Brawlers, Dog Beater

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.

At 12:14 p.m. Friday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Avenida Serra and Ola Vista intersection. The report stated that citizens were yelling and screaming outside of restaurant there. People appeared to be upset because the business was closed during business hours. 

At 12:13 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. The report stated that a man and a woman were seen in a heated verbal argument at San Diego Gas & Electric, and the informant was concerned the argument was going to become physical. 

At 7:58 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance at the Boca De La Palya and Avenida Pico intersection. Deputies detained three men who were intoxicated and had gotten into a heated physical argument near the Ole Hanson Beach Club. The men were holding tree branches and were seen hitting each other with the branches.

At 7:43 p.m. Thursday, deputies were called to assist animal control in the 300 block of Avenida Monterey. The informant reported that a male Marine has been brutally beating his dog for the past three nights. Animal control was advised and could respond if needed. 

At 6:12 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a trespasser in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. The report stated that a drunk man in his 50s was falling into display objects at Stater Brothers. There was no report of an arrest.

At 10:47 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a drunk driver near the east Avenida Pico and I-5 freeway intersection. The informant reported that a driver of a gray BMW 530i was seen swerving all over the road and was last seen heading east on Avenida Pico. 

At 4:19 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 1100 block of Via Callejon. The report stated that several minors with skateboards were seen destroying marble structures. 

At 8:55 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a vandalism in progress in the 500 block of Avenida Victoria. The informant reported that a man to whom he owed money came over to his house and punched out a window with one of his fists. The man had blond hair and was in his mid 30s. 

At 12:01 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of Marquita Drive. The report stated that three men were disturbing citizens by drinking beer and breaking the glass bottles. The men were reportedly told to leave and became confrontational. 

At 7:46 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a patrol check near the Avenida De La Paz and the Avenida La Cuesta intersection. The report stated that numerous vehicles were seen speeding up and down De La Paz and deputies were needed to assist.
