CRIME REPORTS: Truck Lost in Ravine, Cheap Motel Guests, Obnoxious Transient

Here are a few crimes pulled from the San Clemente police log over the past few days.

At 2:58 a.m. Tuesday morning police arrested an 18-year-old on the 800 block of El Camino Real for a narcotics violation.

At 5:22 a.m. Tuesday a caller reported a suspicious person on the first block of Via Ceramica. The caller noticed his neighbor's car alarm went off and saw a man in a dark hoodie and dark pants running away from the car. The car was a silver Mercedes.

At 12:25 a.m. Tuesday police responded to a noise disturbance on first block of Puerto Caravaca. Police arrived to two tow trucks from San Clemente Towing company pulling a Ford truck out of a ravine. A contractor from San Diego had overestimated the power of his truck and lost it down the ravine. There were no injuries.

At 6:35 p.m. Monday a caller reported a disturbance on the 200 block of Avenida Pelayo. There were several minors shooting air-soft pellets at houses and on people's property. The police picked the minors up and dropped them off with their parents.

At 5:51 p.m. Monday, police assisted the San Clemente city lifeguards at Linda Lance beach. There were 6-10 males in their late teens drinking alcohol near tower six. There was no report of an arrest.

At 4:08 p.m. Monday police responded to a reckless driving call on the 2800 block of Riachuelo. There were about six minors racing up and down the street on dirt bikes. Police reported no arrests. 

At 10:34 p.m. Sunday police arrested a 64-year-old man from the Patriot Motel on the 700 block of El Camino Real. The man had a warrant out for his arrest and refused to pay for the past three nights he stayed at the motel. He is currently in jail with no bail amount posted. 

At 7:02 p.m. Sunday police arrested a 22-year-old man on the 200 block of Avenida Calafia for an act of vandalism. The man has since been released from custody. 

At 6:33 p.m. Police arrested 62-year-old local transient woman from the Stella Lucky Market on the 100 block of El Camino Real. Callers said she was in the store being obnoxious and refused to leave when asked. She has since been released from custody and there was no posted bail amount.

At 1:51 p.m. Sunday, police arrested a 40-year-old man on 100 block of Avenida Buena Ventura for being drunk in public. The male was found laying in a woman’s yard and had no shirt or trunks on. He has since been released from custody.
