CRIME REPORTS: Woman Chucks Melons, Kids Hurl Glass Plates

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Services dispatch log throughout the past few days.

At 3:17 p.m. Monday a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino De Los Mares. According to the report, a transient man was harassing people for money and police had to respond for a second time. The man was detained and there was no report of an arrest. 

At 3:02 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a suspicious person near the East Avenida Pico and Calle Amanecer intersection. The report stated that a woman in a pinkish t-shit was suspected of being on drugs or alcohol as she stumbled around the street with a large black labrador. 

At 1:41 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 2300 block of Plaza de la Playa. The informant reported that at least 10 minors were throwing rocks at her near Riviera State Beach tower four. The minors had taken off by the time police arrived.

At 12:51 a.m. Monday, deputies arrested a 21-year-old man in the 200 block of Avenida Pelayo. According to the report, the man had been slapping a woman and was causing her to scream. Deputies discovered the man had a warrant out for his arrest and he was taken into custody with no posted bail amount. 

At 8:21 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the first block of Pas Luna. According to the report, a man's drunk wife punched him for no reason in the face when he was laying down. The man did not experience any injuries and dispatchers could hear a woman yelling in the background.

At 8:10 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to conduct a patrol check near the East Avenida Palizada and El Camino Real intersection. The informant was reportedly concerned for the safety of two woman in their 20s who were begging for money. The girls had a sign stating they were recently homeless. 

At 9:53 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 400 block of Monterey Lane. According the report, a group of minors were throwing glass plates in front of the informant’s residence and a neighbor came out to yell at them. 

At 1:55 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 200 block of El Camino Real. The report stated there was a heated physical fight between several drunk subjects behind a bar there. One of the subjects was reportedly swinging a belt around. 

At 10:10 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a firework violation near the Buena Vista and El Portal intersection. According to the report, subjects were setting off illegal fireworks and bottle rockets on the beach.

At 9:42 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 600 block of Camino de los Mares. The report stated that a female Stater Brothers customer was being verbally abusive and proceeded to throw watermelons at store employees. 

At 5:24 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to conduct a patrol check near the North Avenida De La Estrella and the Avenida Palizada intersection. The informant reportedly saw multiple vehicles going 60 mph in a 25 mph zone, and was upset because it is an ongoing issue. 

At 5:13 p.m. Friday, a caller reported a reckless driver near the East Avenida Palizada and the I-5 freeway. According to the report, the driver of a sliver four door Ford was speeding, slamming on his breaks and throwing items from his vehicles at the informant’s vehicle. There was no report of an arrest. 

At 11:27 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a suspicious person in the first block of Gema. The informant reported that someone attempted to steal the neighbors' barbecue grill during . 

At 8:49 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a disturbance in the first block of Calle de los Molinos. According to the report, a man and a woman were seen in a physical argument in an old white motorhome parked in the Elks Lodge parking lot. The woman was in her early 30s and was holding a small child. 

At 7:51 a.m. Friday, deputies arrested a 23-year-old man for business and professions violations in the 300 block of Calle Delicada. The man was taken into custody and bail was set for $20,000. 

At 10:18 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance near the South Ola Vista and Trafalgar Lane. According to the report a group of minors were seen throwing fireworks at passing vehicles on the corner of Cazador and Ola Vista. The informant said the minors almost caused a traffic accident. 

At 1:43 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 1600 block of El Camino Real. According to the report, an employee of the Cigar Stop witnessed a transient steal a battery from the store. Deputies reported detaining one subject. 

At 11:04 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported an abandoned vehicle in the 1800 block of Calle de los Alamos. According to the report, there was a white Ford Ranger with trash bags in the bed parked for nearly a week. 

At 12:01 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Avenida Talega and Vista Hermosa intersection. According to the report, a group of minors were seen throwing water balloons at passing vehicles from the Talega Golf Course. 

At 8:59 p.m. Wednesday, deputies arrested a 38-year-old-man for resisting arrest in the 700 block of Calle Cumbre. The man was taken into custody and there was no posted bail amount.
