Man Needs Car Jumped ... or Does He?

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, probationers caught, a concerned citizen tries to help a rogue wanderer and a couple disturbs the peace.

At 6:24 p.m. Friday Nov. 29, someone reported a suspicious person in the 1000 block of Calle Del Cerro. A 20-year-old man was asking strangers to give him a jump start for his car. The caller said the man had already driven his vehicle to another side of a building to ask people the same question.

At 12:27 a.m. Thursday Nov. 28, a caller reported a suspicious person in a vehicle near the cross streets of South El Camino Real and Avenida San Gabriel. Deputies arrived to investigate and discovered two probationers occupied the car. One 27-year-old probationer was arrested. He has since been released from jail after his bond was posted.

At 1:34 a.m. Friday Nov. 29, a concerned caller asked deputies for a welfare check near the cross streets of Calle Del Cerro and Avenida Pico. The caller said a man was walking in the middle of the street and was worried he was going to be hit by a vehicle.

At 10:37 p.m. Friday Nov. 29, a caller reported a disturbance in the 700 block of Calle Vallarta. Two people in a white Nissan were racing up and down local streets and disturbing residents.

These are selected reports from the San Clemente Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
